Ally is a five-year-old, tan, altered, female Mastiff that was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as a stray. Ally was calm and allowed being handled and examined by the medical staff. After getting to the center, Ally was diagnosed with a sickness but she got through it and is on her way to recovery. As her handler opened the gate and presented the loop leash, she remained loose with soft eyes as it was placed over her head. She left her kennel willingly and was timid as she walked and periodically trembled. She entered the catch pen and walked up to the fence to greet a female Collie. When she entered the yard, she was approached by the Collie. She had a wiggly body as she approached the handlers to solicit affection on numerous occasions. She walked up to a timid female Shepherd, which air-snapped at her when she walked too close. She respected the warning and walked away. She relaxed and approached other dogs to exchange greetings. She was interested in a pair of dogs playing chase but did not join in. She remained social and friendly for the remainder of her stay in the yard. She has shown a gentle and dainty play style. Ally is recommended to a home with middle school-aged children and is OK around large animals. To meet Ally, use the link and follow the instructions on how to create a self-scheduling morning appointment at the center: https://linktr.ee/; https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/all-visits-to-the-animal-care-center-are-by-appointment-only/. Camper is a four-year-old, black, male German Shepherd that was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center on Aug. 13. Camper is friendly and allowed the medical staff to handle him. During his time in the play yard, Camper sat at the gate when his handler approached. The handler opened the gate and was able to leash him. When he arrived at the pen, he approached the fence and exchanged a nose-to-nose greeting with a female Labrador and a Pitbull. When he entered the yard, he approached that group and exchanged good greetings. He approached both handlers in the yard, seeking affection. One of them began to pet his head, and he sat down and leaned into the handler seeking further affection. He sat while tolerating a female Shepherd and a male Husky sniffing his body. After a few minutes, he began to explore the yard. He began to pace the fence and look to the top as if he was attempting to jump. A handler stood by the fence and he walked away. He remained social and tolerant. He did not display a play style. Camper is non-reactive around other dogs and was friendly with people, seeking attention. Camper is recommended to a home with middle school-aged children and is OK to be around large dogs.
